- WELCOME TO THE WIN-JDK MAILING LIST
-
- Why this mailing list exists?
- I have been active in Java application development since November 1995.
- Over this period of time, I have subscribed to numerous mailing lists,
- on which, the topic of discussion is Java development. However, *all*
- of these mailing lists are cluttered with development-kit platform-
- specific issues. Usually, the questions that are raised refer to Sun's
- Windows 95 JDK. On 8/25/1996, we have witnessed release of IBM's Java ADK
- for Windows 3.1. Win95 and Win3.1 are crucial platforms for both
- development and testing of Java applications. Since most mailing lists,
- such as java-rmi and strong-java are, are currently cluttered with
- win95 questions, and IBM has not started a "support" mailing list, it
- has been suggested that a separate Windows JDK specific list be started.
